How do I read the reference of a needle or cartridge ?

The needle reference is written as AA BB CC for example (1009RL, 1211M1). The first pair of digits (AA) corresponds to the diameter of the needle, e.g. 08 = 0.25mm, 10 = 0.30mm, 12 = 0.35mm. The second pair of numbers (BB) corresponds to the number of needles, for example 09 = 9 needles, 11 = 11 needles. Finally, the letter pair (CC) corresponds to the type of needle RL (round liner), RS (round shader), F (flat), M1 (magnum with a large space between the needles), M2 (magnum with the needles very close together) or RM (round magnum)...

How do I read a tube reference ?

The tube reference is written as AA BB (07RT, 18RT). The first pair of digits (AA) must correspond to the second pair of digits of the needles chosen. For example, if you are using needles with reference 1009RL, you must choose a tube starting with 09. For all RL or RS needles, the second pair of numbers (BB) must be RT (round tip) or D (diamond tip) tubes. For all F, RM and M2 needles, choose FT or F tubes. For M1 needles, you need to choose a larger size for the AA reference and choose FT or F for the BB reference. To summarise: If you use a 1211M1 needle, you must use a 12FT tube. If you are using a 1211RL needle, you need an 11RT or 11D tube
