This machine has adjustable damping controlled by a knob on the top of the machine. For harder work (lining and colour filling), turn the knob at the top of the machine clockwise. For gentler work (shading), turn the knob anticlockwise. It takes just 5 seconds to switch from liner to shader without touching the feed.
